Porvoo is a small historical city on the south coast of Finland. Less than an hour from Helsinki its history, old town and chocolate factory make it a popular destination with vistors. Parts of the old town along the river are now seeking UNESCO heritage status.
Over the bridge from the old town and literally at the end of the tracks is a small disused railway yard home to a blacksmiths and an overgrown working railway turntable. The buildings surrounding the area are made from red brick and inside hiding away the locomotives that used to drive this track on a regular basis.
This post is in response to a black and white photo challenge.
if you would like to see the cathedral that over looks Porvoo’s old town follow the link to Porvoo Cathedral.
Somewhere that is appealing to my sense of interest. If a travel opportunity presents itself to go anywhere in the world, would put this on my list.

These are great photos for this week’s challenge. It would be fun to photograph that old town.

Yes, Porvoo was a great church that you can see above the town. Maybe one day I will post photographs from there.
