Silbury Hill

The area surrounding Salisbury is full of history. There is Stonehenge and Avebury Ring that date back thousands of years, to Caen Hill Locks on the Kennet and Avon Canal that were built during the industrial Revolution.

Above is Silbury Hill, the tallest prehistoric man made hill in Europe, standing at 30m tall. With its close proximity to Avebury and Stonehenge it’s likely they are all connected but the reason behind the hill is still largely debated. Like Stonehenge itself, it’s a mystery.
